Water safety plans (WSPs) provide a well established and widely accepted framework to contribute to the human right to water and the Sustainable Development Goal target to achieve, by 2030, universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all. WHO has therefore developed a guidance document on the systematic integration of equity considerations into the steps of a WSP.

Equity in water safety planning was developed based on field research and pilot activities undertaken in select countries in the Asia-Pacific region. As the document aims to provide guidance that is relevant and useful globally, feedback from review and pilot activities in other countries and regions is being sought prior to publication. Additional supporting examples and case studies are of particular interest.

The draft guidance document and associated feedback form can be downloaded from: http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/news-events/equity-in-water-safety-planning/en/

Feedback is kindly requested by 31 December 2017.
